Topic:

“Applying Construction Productivity Principles to Engineering”

Over time, economics and competition have forced contractors to focus on labor productivity with a view of doing “more for less”.

With this focus and the drive to innovate, a number of productivity improvement initiatives have been developed that enable contractors to understand productivity.  This understanding is not limited to calculating performance against a predefined budget but also what business process barriers have been put in place to hinder the improvement of productivity.

This presentation seeks to outline some of these productivity improvement initiatives and how they can be applied to the engineering discipline.
