Worldwide activity in the energy sector continues at a healthy pace. Availability of material and equipment is a critical aspect in successful completion of any project. Each year Fluor Corporation surveys global markets for  materials, equipment and fabrication/construction to determine trends in availability, cost and delivery time for energy related project components. Larry’s presentation will discuss results of the most recent survey and provide insights on trends in material and equipment procurement that could impact project cost and schedule going forward into 2013 and beyond.

Larry Jackson
Vice President, Procurement, Fluor

Larry Jackson is Vice President, Procurement for Fluor Corporation, responsible for global Procurement Operations, across all offices and business units managing Fluor’s 17 billion dollar annual spend. Larry has more than 30 years experience in the Engineering, Procurement and Construction industry, and has previously served as an executive in the areas of supply chain management, project management, business unit operations, sales and marketing.

In addition to speaking on a variety of supply chain topics, Larry is active with the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), with the Institute for Supply Management, and with Clemson University, as an industry curriculum advisor.

Larry serves on the Clemson Institute of Supply Chain and Optimization Advisory Board and Fluor Endowed Center Supply Chain and Optimization Center for Economic Excellence Advisory Board. He is also involved in an advisory capacity in the creation of a Master’s in Engineering degree in the Industrial Engineering Program focused on Capital Project Supply Chain.

Location & Parking:

Grand Hall in the Rice Ley Student Center Detailed campus maps are available on the web at http://www.rice.edu/maps/. Use the Find A Building web search feature on the left of the page to locate the Ley Student Center on the map. The Central Campus Garage is the closest parking facility. It is located to the left of the Ley Student Center across the street.

Rice University is a popular meeting location. In the remote possibly the underground parking is full, the second closest parking is the West Lot. Continue down the Laboratory Loop Road to the stop sign. Cross the street and the gate will be on the left. Be sure to bring an umbrella if the weather seems inclement.

The campus also offers a bus shuttle that runs about every 15 minutes as it loops the campus. Look for the bus stop signs to use or enjoy a short brisk walk!

Registration:

$25 per person – a boxed lunch will be served. At the time of registration, you will asked to indicate your meal choice of SANDWICH or SALAD or VEGETARIAN meal. We are unable to honor requests beyond these 3 options. Sammy’s is next door if you desire or need an alternative meal. PLEASE HONOR YOUR MEAL SELECTION WHICH WILL BE NOTED ON YOUR NAMETAG. $ 0 for Rice Students – registration required in advance.

This Roundtable qualifies for one (1) Professional Development Hour (PDH). Your email confirmation at completion of registration serves as your PDH and payment receipts. Paper receipts may be picked up at the registration desk at time of check-in.
