June 2016 Roundtable

Date / Time:

Friday, June 10, 2016 – 11:15 a.m. sign-in & networking with the speaker beginning at NOON ending promptly at 1:00 p.m.

Topic:

“2016 and Two FPSOs in US GoM: the Twenty Year Saga”

Peter Lovie will talk about key industry people in this saga, the often controversial events behind it, insights that might be gained from it all, and the outlook as the FPSO business faces its worst ever downturn. The contrast between the use of FPSOs in the US Gulf of Mexico and the rest of the world is dramatic: fourfold growth in the world’s FPSO fleet over these 20 years, yet only 2 of about 218 in that fleet are in the US GoM. Peter will include comments on the unrecognized initiatives of operators on the regulatory process, the real reason for FPSOs being disconnectable in GoM and how it’s about time we amend the Jones Act. This piece was published in April on www.fpsosingom.com by Peter Lovie and is freely downloadable.
