January 2017 Roundtable

Date / Time:

Friday, January 13, 2017 – 11:15 a.m. sign-in & networking with the speaker beginning at NOON ending promptly at 1:00 p.m.

Topic:

“EPC Projects – Back to Front Planning”

Modern EPC Projects have more interfaces, and extensive pressure to reduce costs and commit to lump sum contracts. Work is performed in various engineering centers, with multiple vendors, and across numerous fabrication yards. Suppliers are global, regulatory oversight is increasing and intermediate milestones and Client first production schedules are shortened.

Managing these multiple challenges requires concise detailing, tracking, communicating and completion of assigned project tasks, which is mandatory for a successful project.

Boris’ presentation will describe the Back to Front Planning utilized at Technip, and will expound on how and when it is performed on their projects. He will describe how Technip utilizes its EasyPlant Platform (Tool) to facilitate project internal turnovers and interfaces to final Handover to the Client.

The work processes of the subcontractors, vendors and fabricators are incorporated into the EasyPlant Platform in support of their work execution. EasyPlant supports the individual work process of the various parties and ties them together for a seamless transfer of information. This facilitates the internal turnovers and minimizes SIMOPS requirements for construction, precommissioning and commissioning.
