Biographies
Dr. David
E. Adkins is a registered Professional Engineer in the U.S., a Project
Management Institute-certified Project Management Professional, and a
recognized proponent and teacher of a dynamic style of performance- and
empowerment-based management that enables good planning and control
while fostering vision and participation. He currently is serving as
Senior Partner and Technical Director of Business Management
Consultants.
In a broad and varied career encompassing a series of senior positions
at major multinational public and private companies--in which he managed
research projects and major multimillion dollar capital projects in
aerospace, petroleum exploration and production, natural gas
transmission, subsea technology, semiconductor technology, and
government-- Dr. Adkins has developed unique skills and qualifications in
all areas of business management, drawing upon experiences acquired
while holding direct responsibilities for program management,
engineering, quality assurance, sales, international contract
negotiations, manufacturing operations, financial management,
information technology and legal departments.
In addition to his duties at Business Management Consultants, Dr. Adkins is President of Patent
Development Services and a lecturer to the President’s U.S./Japan
Committee on Undersea Resources. He has taught his style of project
management in courses provided to a long list of corporate clients
working all over the world, has authored numerous published articles and
holds several patents.
Dr. Adkins is a member of the faculties of ASME, NASA, Infotec (Mexico),
Management Centre Europe, Singapore Institute of Management, Société
Européenne des Ingénieurs et des Industriels (SEII) in Brussels,
Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico), Notre Dame, Penn State University,
University of Houston, University of Florida, Lamar University, Lord
Fairfax College, University of Texas MB, and several Industry Training
Academies. He received a B.A. in Mathematics and Physics from Washington
& Jefferson College, a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie
Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the
University of Michigan, and an M.B.A. with the Ohio State University. He
received a Juris Doctorate from the College of Law and is applied to the
Bar in California.

Michael J. Economides is a Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular
Engineering in the Cullen College of Engineering at the University of
Houston and Editor-in-Chief of Energy Tribune magazine.
Among America's leading energy analysts, Mr. Economides has done
technical and managerial work in more than 70 countries, has written or
collaborated on about 200 articles and peer-reviewed papers and 11
textbooks, and has appeared as a guest on nationally distributed
television and radio news programs.
An accomplished researcher, Mr. Economides has significantly improved
understanding of the total hydrocarbon value chain, from reservoir to
market. He has achieved major contributions on reservoir-stimulation
theory, advanced reservoir exploitation strategies, and complex well
designs. He is currently conducting industry research into development
of deep offshore technology, world energy scenario forecasting, natural
gas exploitation strategies, and a next-generation high-intensity
offshore facility design engine.
Mr. Economides holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees
in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas and a Ph.D. in
Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University. He has been awarded
honorary degrees and fellowships from prestigious educational
institutions and professional organizations in Romania, Russia, and the
U.S.

Robert Finley is the Director of Engineering for Aramco Services
Company in Houston, Texas, a position in which he directs engineering
project and operations support services and technology development
activities in North America for Saudi Aramco, the national oil company
of Saudi Arabia.
Finley’s experience spans more than 35 years, including project
engineering, project management, research and development, and
engineering management. He has worked in the exploration and producing
sector, as well as in downstream refining and products.
Finley’s background is in process automation and project management. He
graduated with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Rice
University in 1971.
Finley joined Aramco Services Company 27 years ago, after working in
computer control systems for Exxon Chemical.

Luc J.
Messier is Senior Vice-President of Project Development for
ConocoPhillips.
Mr. Messier joined ConocoPhillips in February 2007, after serving as
President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Technip USA since July
2005. He began at Technip in January 2003 and served first as chief
operating officer and then as president and CEO of Technip Offshore Inc.
Prior to joining Technip USA, Messier held engineering, project
management and managing director roles at Bouygues Construction and
Pomerlau.
Mr. Messier holds bachelor degrees in civil engineering from the
University of Sherbrooke and studied Spanish at Bishop's and McGill
University, as well as business administration at INSEAD. He serves on
the board of trustees of the AWTY international school.
