This well-received presentation focused on the increasing roll that LNG Terminals will play in the next decade in solving the growing natural gas shortage in North America. Certification of these terminals will help insure that they have been designed, built, and commissioned with the proper codes and regulations, and that the inherent risks have been addressed and mitigated.

This lively talk brought to light the legal peril that companies can face as a result of email messages. Major litigation has resulted from snafus in this area and Mr. Williams explained that this legal version of "egg on the face" can be avoided! This presentation expanded Mr. William's talk from the September Roundtable, with open discussion and participation by the audience.

Kerry's talk focused on recent developments in the law and the impact on engineering and construction projects, including marine construction projects. He focused on recent cases and developments affecting liability and risk management issues, tax liability issues in the international arena, Foreign Corrupt Practices issues, dispute resolution issues and communications management in the engineering and construction industry.

Ray challenged the group to consider the future of coal-to-gas and gas-to-liquid, a process that was discovered over 70 years ago, and has now hit center stage. He covered the basics of the technology, the market forecast, and economic drivers.

Dick gave a very good overview of Cola Gasification, the alternative technology and who the major players are. He explained the schedule for new facilities coming on-stream and how they will impact the energy situation within the USA.

Bill discussed the global LNG shipping industry, its capabilities to build future for demand based on the current availability of resources and companies, safety record of the industry and the types of ships we are likely to see in the future.
