![]() A graduate of the Haverford College near Philadelphia, Professor Klineberg received an M.A. in Psychopathology from the University of Paris and a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Harvard. After teaching at Princeton, he joined Rice University's Sociology Department in 1972.
In March 1982, he and his students initiated the annual "Houston Area Survey." Supported by a consortium of local foundations, corporations and individuals, the surveys have been expanded in recent years to include large numbers of Anglos, African-Americans, Hispanics and Asians.
The recipient
of nine major teaching awards at Rice, Professor Klineberg has recently
published a 48-page report, entitle Public Perceptions in Remarkable
Times: Tracking Change Through 24 Years of Houston Surveys.
He is also at work on a book that will cover the first quarter-century of
the Houston studies exploring though systematic survey research the way the
general public is responding to the economic, demographic, and environmental
challenges of our time. |
