Maria Anonietta Solinas - Strategic Control for E & C, Eni, Italy

Maria Antonietta Solinas is responsible for Strategic Control for Engineering & Construction, Petrochemicals and Shared Services activities for Eni, the Italian integrated energy company. She serves also as Director of the Board of Tecnomare, an offshore engineering outfit. Prior to moving to Eni, she worked twenty years for Snamprogetti, the engineering & construction arm of the Eni Group, in several positions. She began as Process Engineer in Natural Gas Processing and Ethylene Plants. In her role as Project Manager for feasibility studies, she coordinated the development of conceptual engineering for several projects, also carrying out the relevant profitability analysis. She participated in the development of specific financial models for a number of project financing schemes, among which the Sarlux IGCC project in Sardinia. She then moved to Strategic Control involving competitive analysis, benchmarking and market outlook. Since the beginning of 1999 she took over the responsibility of the whole Corporate Strategic Planning process, including Strategic Control and Corporate Communications. She holds an honors degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rome, Italy, where she remained as a researcher for one year after graduation.
